Differentiation, from a Distance - Webinar 9th May

The aim of this workshop is to equip educators with strategies and tools to develop and sustain visible learning within a Distance Education context, where students are actively engaged in their learning process, can be their own teacher, articulate what they are learning and why, and can anticipate and express the next learning steps.

As a Distance Education school, we must think and act differently to our mainstream counterparts. We need to innovate and create pedagogy that suits our learners in all our subject areas, connect with our learners virtually and respond to the variety of contexts of our learners. Students are empowered to understand how they learn best, in order to meaningfully engage in curriculum.

In this workshop participants will,

• experience how research from Hattie, Fisher, Frey and others, is converted to quality practice in a virtual classroom.
• gain a deeper understanding of visible learning principles and practical strategies to create visible learning environments within their Distance Education context.
• experience what quality innovative pedagogy looks, feels and sounds like, for the teacher, student and home tutor.
• be equipped with tools and techniques to empower students as active participants in their own learning, leading to improved and measured academic outcomes and a positive learning culture.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity for other distance educators, to experience hands-on learning that will empower them to become more effective and impactful in their teaching practice.
