It's always a thrill when a DECV student receives a Premier's Award in recognition of their outstanding VCE results. This year the thrill was multiplied as five of our students received this honour. The ceremony was held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre and awards were bestowed by Education Minister and Deputy Premier, James Merlino.
· Meg Challis for Classical Studies
· Eleanor Bladen for Music Style and Composition
· Maddison Carr – Dance (VCE VET)
· Tina Pyrcz – Dance (VCE VET)
· Harper Banks – Dance
A highlight of the ceremony is interviews with the recipients in which they are invited to reflect on their learning and give advice to other students. Here is one such gem.
“Don’t see the grade or mark on assessments as a number. See it as reflection of how much you’ve learned and how much you need to learn.”
